I changed some settings on my ark server and clicked the save and restart at the bottom of the advanced settings and it wiped my server. I have done this before trying to adjust a few things and it never wiped the server. Any idea why it did this time around and would it be possible to get the save back?

Yes just simply go into your backup, and restore a previously saved game. If it was enabled. Everything should be back in its proper place.

Just to go a step further for those looking at this in the future. Make sure you run a manual backup prior to making any settings/mod changes and if possible each time you plan on the bringing the server down to help reduce the rollback time. It may be a hassle (and one I myself need to practice more) but it will save you a huge headache if for some reason your save was corrupted. When that happens your server cant read the savefile and loads the default.
