HI with ark servers and the Auto backup 15min setting .. can they be restored?

Yes, very much so. I used to run an Ark cluster from here and it came in handy very much when I was setting up player event arenas or during actual non-lethal events, raids on admin built bases for treasure events. Easy no repair rebuild for the next contestants.

Sorry this is a reply to a 2wk old thread - but how do I go about restoring it?

Is it just a rebuild server?

Only ask as a player has lost something and wants to rollback 15 (or 30) minutes - and I only see daily backups in the GUI (I'm not an Ark Player, just fund the server itself)

Double posting for format reasons:

Need to rollback your server? Alright, lets do it.

Step 1: STOP the server, download and open Filezila

Step 2: Connect to it using the SFTP tab details.

Step 3: Navigate to /arkserver/ShooterGame/Saved/SavedArks

Step 4: Find the MAPNAME.ark file, Whatever map you're using, will be the name. Recommended to Sort by "last modified"

Step 5: Rename the "<mapname.ark> to something else (mapnameBAK.ark is suggested)

Step 6: Rename the previous save file (Or the file you have chosen to go back to) to the filename you renamed. So Mapname.ark, removing all the save details etc

Step 7: Start your server and hopefully you have no more issues!

Note that the number of auto saves is dependant on how your "Auto Save Period Minutes" is set. General is every 15 minutes.
