When shooting the bow (wood and compound) in first person, sometimes it doesn't reload and won't reload until you holster the weapon and pull it out again. It's very irritating since I mainly use the bow to fight.

It's also happening with firearms. So don't feel alone...

It's a known ARK bug due to running while firing / reloading. You have to switch weapons back and forth. Happens on official as well.
