  • Plugging ConfigOverride settings into game.ini

I have been trying to make simple changes to engram costs for our servers. I'm using the Expert tab > Game.ini.

I have failed to get this to work so far.

Here is the line I am trying to edit, the server doesn't seem to recognize that this command does anything. Any help to point me in the right direction would be helpful.

ConfigOverrideItemCraftingCosts= (ItemClassString="PrimalItemWeaponStoneHatchetC",BaseCraftingResourceRequirements= ((ResourceItemTypeString="PrimalItemResourceThatchC",BaseResourceRequirement=1.0,bCraftingRequireExactResourceType=false), (ResourceItemTypeString="PrimalItemAmmoArrowStoneC",BaseResourceRequirement=2.0,bCraftingRequireExactResourceType=false)))

We are currently using the HG Stacking 5000-90 310.1 mod and Immersive Taming. The original plan was to override the bait station engram to require the HG Stacking mod's version of Mutton in order to create the bait. The lines we have tried have failed to work, so I've resulted to trying the tutorials override on ark.gamepedia to see a result in the change and still have failed to do so.

Edit: *I am saving and restarting the server after any changes are made to the game.ini or gameusersettings.ini.

"Nested" Engrams like the bait station are generally a bit difficult to get right as you never fully know how they implemented the engrams, but for what it's worth:

It seems like you're missing some important parts of your engram entries:

HG

as the way stack mods work, is they replace ALL of the items that the stack size is changed for by creating brand new items and overriding the old ones.

For instance:

PrimalItemResourceThatchC might actually be PrimalItemResourceThatchHGC after the mod installs.

That is JUST an example, and it's based off of OTHER mods that do similar. To find the actual info you'll need to check with mod's steam pages, forums and/or discords to get all the data you'll need for a proper override.

Also, sometimes additional spaces can cause havoc with those ini settings. I would remove all the spaces just to be sure.

Thank you so much for your time and explanation. I kept messing with the Hatchet Override and finally made a breakthrough when I put it all in the same line. Once I had that, I was able to add the HG Stacking Mod 5000 and Immersive Taming.

This is the correct override that we used to allow the bait stations to use the Stacking mod's version of Raw Mutton. ConfigOverrideItemCraftingCosts=(ItemClassString="PrimalItemConsumableBaitRawMuttonC",BaseCraftingResourceRequirements=((ResourceItemTypeString="PrimalItemResourceFibersC",BaseResourceRequirement=12.0,bCraftingRequireExactResourceType=false),(ResourceItemTypeString="PrimalItemResourceSparkpowderC",BaseResourceRequirement=2.0,bCraftingRequireExactResourceType=false),(ResourceItemTypeString="PrimalItemConsumableRawMuttonChildC",BaseResourceRequirement=1.0,bCraftingRequireExactResourceType=false)))

To clarify, there are no spaces in that line.
