Welcome to ARK. One of the funnest buggiest games on the planet, especially during a new update.
Your servers will crash, they will boot loop, they will patch, they will update, but if you have patience, after a few hours they will be stable, until tomorrow, when WildCard patches again.
Additionally Steam (And many more digital store fronts) have throttled their bandwidth, so it could take a considerable amount of time for a game to load / patch / download at present.
Your best tool at this time is patience.
bruh i know all this but still the issue was fixed on behalf of ark yesterday and the servers were running perfectly for abt 24 hours straight but it happened again today !!! i just want to know if other server owners are also facing the same problem or no :)
Same. I paid for the server assuming it was just me needing to configure it properly but I have not been able to get this online a single time since then. Always stuck at "starting (xx%)" even after wiping everything and moving to another server. This does not seem like an Ark problem.
I'm giving up now. I have tried everything and I was never once ever able to connect to the game. Waring to anyone else on the Epic version of the game; there's clearly something the host needs to configure here that they have not. Other dedicated services work fine. This one does not.
Most of the time it would stick at 99% and crash. When it did come online, it would give timeout errors. No other service had this problem for me. Really disappointing experience :\
My server works absolutely fine. I;ve been playing on Ragnarok off and on for over 7 hours now.
I can't see how to edit my post, but last night I re-activated my account and it came right up. I still got timeout errors every time I connected though.
I did find a workaround online that gets you connected if you're on the Epic version: open a single player game, then hit tab and type "open <ip address>:<port>" and it will immediately log you in successfully.
So now things seem to be alright. Sorry for losing my cool.
