  • 7D2D - Is There A Way To Enable Server Side Logging?

Toad

Hello all, Please forgive me if this has been addressed before, but there are 72 pages of forum subjects (mostly ARK related) and no apparent search feature. I looked back 12 pages and saw nothing relevant. Currently I am trying to maintain a (mostly) constant Telnet connection so I can remotely capture some semblance of a log. This often drops and I have to reconnect when I eventually notice the connection has quit on me. A decent way to enable logging and capture those logs in the backups would be great. They are quite useful in monitoring server performance and player behavior.

TIA, -Ed-

There is currently not a server side logging available outside of features that specific games offer, so unless the game files themselves have a logging feature to toggle it's not something available outside of the charts tab in your panel.

If you look in the startserver.sh, you see the following line:

./7DaysToDieServer.x8664 -logfile $SERVERDIR/7DaysToDieServerData/output_log__date +%Y-%m-%d__%H-%M-%S.txt -quit -batchmode -nographics -dedicated $PARAMS

It is clearly attempting to create a logfile on startup, but I do not see one actually being created.

I would recommend emailing support in that case, there possibly is a permissions issue with the executable then.
