Greetings,

I been trying to log in to my ark server after a mod update, but i keep getting the same error over an over that the server is not updated...

I have tried rebuild the server, restart the server, uninstall and re-install mods, i even tried previous backups to no avail. Nothing i have try seems to work, i have spent more than 5h googling through any possible solution and havent found any solution. This is driving me crazy, i even wrote to the server provider (arkservers.io) and havent receive any answer.

What else i can de besides being forced to wipe clean everything and start from scratch? This happen after Kraken's Better Dinos update. The server say it has the last version installed, my files say i have the latest update installed, yet, for whatever reason, when i try to connect it say the server doesnt have lattest mod update installed when it does!

What's most likely occurring is that you have a local Steam Cache problem. One of the things that this host doesn't do is cache Steam files, which means everytime your machine updates, or rebuilds, or does anything of that nature, you can be 100% certain it's grabbing the files directly from Steam.

Your PC, however, caches updates from Steam to help save on bandwidth, so if you get a bad download, and then try to redo it over, and over again, unless you verify your files, you'll often times get the Cache file.

Try the following, it's basically "Digital Draino" for your Steam install:

1. Stop ARK if it is running

2. Create a list of all your ARK mods in the Steam Workshop

3. Unsubscribe from all ARK mods in the Steam Workshop

4. Delete the installed mod files by deleting all folders and files in “Steam\steamapps\common\ARK\ShooterGame\Content\Mods“

5. Delete the cached download files by deleting all folders and files in “Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\346110”

6. Restart Steam

7. Re-subscribe to your mods from your list (it is best to use the steam browser or web browser, joining a server is not a good idea)

8. Click this link > steam://validate/346110 and Let this process finish. (It can take a VERY long time.)

9. Start ARK and wait for the “Installing” text in the bottom right corner to vanish.

10. Done!
