I have a server running Extinction Core, Steampunk as well as a few other mods. This server had a load time (after hitting accept on the title screen, and before the loading bar screen) of over 10 minutes. I since I am also looking for ways to tailor the game to what we are trying to do, I decided to purchase a server specifically to test on.
I started by setting up the values and the INI files to reflect the main server, and loading in the 5 essential mods. Once I started the server up, I loaded in almost instantly(about 20 seconds bewteen hitting accept, and switching to the loading bar screen). Once in the game, I exited the game and tried again, with the same result; a near instant load.
I exited the game and went into the server manager to set up an admin password, as I had forgot this. When I restarted the server, I had to wait nearly 8 minutes before I saw the load screen.
So I started from scratch. I went in and reset the server completely. First, I set my values. Instant load. I then added my INI lines. Instant load. Then I added Extinction Core...10 minutes before the load screen.
Now this would normally lead me to believe that Extinction Core causes long load times, but I know this is not the case. The first 2 instant loads were with Extinction Core and 4 other mods. This is ONLY using the Extinction Core Mod. I would think that if it were the values (wild/tamed dino weight affinty; to reflect the higher harvesting values and not gimp dinos tamed at the max server level), this would cause the loading issue to happen during the server startup, and not on the client's end. Any suggestion on how to decrease these loads? I don't want to open a server to the public that forces them to wait half an hour to join the game.
